Position Title:              System Administrator #2000

Shift Work:                   Occasional shift work is mandatory. Core support hours are 6am-6pm Monday-Friday (shifts are scheduled by supervisors).

Essential Functions:  The candidate will be tasked with supporting UNIX, SUN, and/or SOLARIS desktops and software, to include installing, configuring and troubleshooting workstations and software.  Some personnel will be assigned to UNIX Desktop Problem Resolution Support Team, visiting customers to resolve issues. Some will be assigned to the Remote Administration Team, supporting customers from a central location.  Some will serve on MuIti-Skills Teams.  Multi-Skills Teams support all aspects of desktops, new installs, and problem resolutions for UNIX and WINTEL systems.  Personnel assigned to the Multi-Skills Teams are expected to cross-train with other team members to learn new skills, while helping others with mastering UNIX support.

Skills/Experience Needed:  Looking for recent experience working directly with UNIX / SUN / SOLARIS (preferably 5+ years). Years of experience in direct supported function, education, training and certifications will affect level selection.

Essential Functions:  Candidate will ensure proper communication between the computer technicians and the end customers; as well as ensure that all work for each customer is properly documented via the REMEDY Action Tracking System. 

Skills/Experience Needed:  Candidates must have a good basic understanding of computer and network technology.  In addition, the ability to use the Microsoft desktop environment and the REMEDY Action Tracking System is required.  Accurate data entry skills, and proper phone etiquette capabilities are a necessity.  Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and macros would be very helpful.

Position Title:              Queue Coordinator #2002

Shift Work:                  Core hours are 6am-6pm Monday-Friday.  Currently shift work is not required, but may become mandatory in the future.

Essential Functions: The QC monitors the incoming Remedy tickets and coordinates work center tasking. They assign tickets to SAs, track SA locations and activity, and track existing tickets in the queue. They leverage existing SA assets against incoming trouble tickets, by SLA/Criticality. Tickets come in, are assigned, and are resolved.  The tickets could be incomplete, incorrectly assigned, or even wrong. To the best of their ability (and with the SLA clock ticking), the QCs attempt to gather enough information to make a proper assessment of where the ticket needs to be sent if it does not belong in the current queue. The QCs coordinate with the QCs of other sections/departments to accomplish the ticket transfers in as smooth a method as possible.  If the QC is unable to resolve the problem, he/she will escalate the ticket/problem to the Queue Manager. As the QCs are often experienced SAs, they will, time permitting, resolve some tickets on their own as well as make recommendations and provide general guidance to the SAs as needed.

Skills/Experience Needed: Excellent customer service and organizational skills are a must.  Experience with Remedy is preferred.  Unix and/or NT system administration experience is desired.

Essential Functions:       The SD-DCDSR Queue Coordinator functions are similar to the SD-DCDPR Queue Coordinator functions. Generally, the QC in both areas coordinates the service request tasking received by the team to provide system administration support of Unix and/or Windows NT/2000 systems; assigns tasking to the system administrators; tracks the effort required to complete these requests, manages the team workflow; and properly updates the team’s Remedy task tickets.

Skills/Experience Needed: Excellent customer service and organizational skills are a must.  Experience with Remedy is preferred.  Unix and/or NT system administration experience is desired.

Essential Functions:  Support both Unix and Windows NT/2000 server systems. Perform system software and hardware maintenance. Install upgrades of operating system and support software. Perform routine system maintenance. Perform backup and restoration functions. Develop and implement system documentation to support operational duties, disaster recovery procedures, and configuration and design documents.

Skills/Experience Needed:  Scripting and programming experience a plus (Bourne, “C”, Pearl, and Unix Shell Languages). Sun/SOLARIS training and/or certification a must. Veritas, Net Backup, clustering, Sun Enterprise Server (Sun Solstice), Networking TCP/IP, firewall, application support, directory services and web hosting experience preferred.

Essential Functions:  Support both Unix and Windows NT/2000 systems. Receive and respond to requests for service for desktop workstations, laptops and peripherals. Perform remote system administration functions, both Unix and NT.  Input all customer requests into Remedy.

Essential Functions:  The candidate will be tasked with developing documented descriptions of Service Delivery processes and procedures; reviewing and analyzing existing processes on a regular basis; organizing and facilitating process reengineering efforts and defining and enhancing the interrelationships of cross-functional processes.

Skills/Experience Needed:  Recent work experience with Process Management and Process Re-engineering is required.  Strong oral and written communication skills are a must, preferably with at least 3 years technical writing experience. Solid working knowledge of the ISO9001:2000 Standard is preferred, as well as experience with business process modeling.  Ability to translate technical activities into written process descriptions that are understandable by both technical and non-technical personnel is needed for this position, as well as the ability to describe and document the interrelationships between processes and procedures.  Candidate will be asked to effectively translate interviews with Subject Matter Experts into process documentation.

Responsibilities include: fielding of network related trouble notifications (calls, alerts, official notifications), providing proper documentation of network outages/anomalies through internal and external reporting tools, escalating problems in accordance with company policy, analyzing and reporting network performance data, modifying configurations of network devices, notifying customers and IT management of problems as applicable.  Work with Help Desk personnel, and second and third level Network support to resolve more in depth problems.
Skills/Experience Needed:  TCP/IP knowledge and basic knowledge of routing and troubleshooting is required.  Experience with Servers, routers, switches, hubs and networking equipment required.  Experience with HP OpenView is required.  Experience with ATM, Ethernet, and FDDI is required.  Experience with Remedy software is desired.  Understanding of Network Performance Management techniques and software is desired.  Previous experience working in a NOC is desired.  Experience with Windows NT/UNIX is desired.  Minimum 4 years of experience in networking field, B.S. degree or equivalent experience desired.

Position Title:              Storage Area Network (SANs) Server Deployment & Consolidation Engineer       # 2026

Essential Functions: Tasking is similar to that of the first four MOD-DCS positions, with additional tasking related to Storage Area Networks.

Skills/Experience Needed: Ability to work with Flexible Storage Architecture is required. Demonstrated and proficient WINDOWS NT/2000 and/or UNIX Solaris Operating Systems skills; Mass storage and disk array experience with Compaq EVA preferred, however demonstrated experience and proficiency with other storage disk array configuration and implementations for SANs, (EMC, IBM, Clarion, T3, A5000, etc.) will be considered.  Multipathing software experience preferred, with experience in secure path preferred. Experience and proficiency with products like Veritas Volume Manager is recommended. NetBackup experience is preferred, however consideration will be given for experience with other backup products at the enterprise level, (Legato, BackupExec, ADSM, CommVault, etc.) in large-scale data migration implementations.  Experience with load balancing, fail-over, I/O, performance tuning and Enterprise Server level backup software and hardware (ADIC, StoreTek) experience is recommended. Skills/Experience Needed: Ability to work with Application Hosting Server/Services Deployment to include the underpinning network environment, servers and storage capacity. Ability to consolidate and deploy applications servers supporting repeatable procedures, or special ad hoc processing. Setting up parameters to control the process, monitoring the outcome of processes.  Ability to determine application problem and diagnosis to if the cause of the application problem is related to the computing environment or any of the Application Processing services. Experience and proficiency with products like Veritas NetBackup is preferred, however consideration will be given for experience with other backup products at the enterprise level, and in large-scale data migration implementations.  Experience with load balancing, fail-over, I/O, performance tuning and Enterprise Server level backup software and hardware experience is recommended.
